looking at you
September – December 2019
Corridor Gallery, Lamar Dodd School of Art, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia
Looking At You: Intimate Portraiture is a group exhibition, juried by Jess T. Dugan, organized by PHOTO-EMPHASIS.
For the exhibition, Dugan selected 30 works by 30 artists from a pool of submissions for display in perpetuity on the PHOTO-EMPHASIS website. From those 30 selections, Dugan chose 15 to participate in the physical print exhibition. Dugan selected the above image (Eramis, 2017 by Michael Joseph) as best in show.
Once selections were made, I printed, sequenced, and installed the entire physical exhibition. To eliminate shipping costs for participating artists, I printed each image onsite. To eliminate framing costs, while not piercing or damaging the print, we decided to hang the show using magnets. This allowed us to ship undamaged prints to the artists after the exhibition closed.
Looking at You was the inaugural exhibition hosted by Corridor Gallery at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in Athens. It remained on display from September through December 2018.
